A Song of Defence

Psalm 5:1-12

David was surrounded by threats and attacks, but he found joy in spite of the troubles! What was the source of joy and comfort? He was surrounded by God's favour.

A Song of Safety

Psalm 4:1-8

Unfavourable circumstances caused a divide between David and the sons of men which surrounded him. In spite of the circumstances, David found himself glad in heart and this was not acceptable to those around him. David's gladness was so much that he expressed greater joy in the face of adversity than what they could enjoy in their times of blessing. All of this came as a result of David's close fellowship with the Lord.

A Song of the Sustained

Psalm 3:1-8

David fled from his son (Absalom) and relinquished the kingdom. In doing so, he showed forth a pattern of how men today often deal with their problems. Instead of running, David should have stayed, fought, and trusted God.

A Song of a King and His Kingdom

Psalm 2:1-12

David prophesied of a greater King who would gain His kingdom through the ultimate sacrifice. Entrance to this kingdom is available to all, but the requirement for entrance must be met according to the standard set forth by the King.

A Song of Varying Ways

Psalm 1:1-6

Life offers two paths...one righteous and the other ungodly. Each of us has to decide which path we will trod. Discover details of both paths and gain insight to their ends.
